FAQs

Looking to establish care with Modern Touch Dental? Before you even step foot into our offices, you should feel confident that you’re choosing the best dentist in the Greater Milwaukee Area!

Here are the answers to some of the most common questions we receive.

Is Modern Touch Dental accepting new patients?

We ARE accepting new patients! Please understand that we are often booked 2-3 weeks out and your appointment will be scheduled accordingly. We will do our best to accommodate a day and time most convenient for you. Emergencies will be seen same-day whenever possible.

Is Modern Touch Dental a kid-friendly dental office?

Tots to teens welcome! It is our belief that dental care and prevention should start at an early age and we encourage you to bring your children to your next appointment for a complimentary Happy Visit. He/she/they will get to know our team in a totally relaxed, fun setting that fosters positive feelings about dental health for years to come.

I have bad dental anxiety. What can you do to help?

Whether it’s a fear of needles, a gag reflex, a resistance to common numbing methods, sensitivity to smell, or a traumatic visit with a former dentist, our team has extensive experience addressing that stress and calming nerves.

For those with light levels of anxiety, we offer blankets and neck pillows, headphones, and iPads for movies/TV. Sometimes a little entertainment and the comforts of home are all it takes!

For those with more moderate levels of anxiety, we can administer nitrous oxide (commonly known as “laughing gas”). Nitrous oxide is a safe and effective sedative agent that is mixed with oxygen and inhaled through a small mask that fits over your nose to help you relax. The effects of nitrous oxide wear off soon after the mask is removed.

For those with moderate to extreme levels of anxiety, we offer oral conscious sedation dentistry. It’s so important to maintain your dental visits without intense feelings of dread or fear! By using oral conscious sedation methods, our team is able to keep you calm throughout your entire procedure. You will essentially be awake, responsive when prompted, but otherwise drifting through your appointment in a comfortable, relaxed state.

Thousands of people just like you have utilized sedation dentistry to face their fears and take better care of their teeth, gums, and mouths.

Sedation is completely safe and has no negative side effects. Any possible medical contraindications with existing prescription medications are addressed and managed ahead of time by our professional medical team. You do not have to worry about unforeseen complications with other prescription medications you may be taking. If you do plan on utilizing sedation at your next appointment, please let our team know during scheduling and make arrangements for a relative or friend to drive you to and from the office.

Will I be totally asleep during sedation?

At Modern Touch Dental we use the most advanced oral conscious sedation methods to ensure maximum comfort. You will essentially be awake, responsive when prompted, but otherwise drifting through your appointment in a comfortable, relaxed state.

How will I be reminded of my dental appointment?

Our team will do everything possible to make sure you don’t miss your appointment while being respectful of your time and communication channels!

When you first schedule, you will receive an emailed confirmation with an option to add the appointment right into your personal calendar. If you confirm at that time, your next written reminder will be sent 4 hours prior to your visit!

If you’ve yet to confirm 2 weeks prior to your appointment date, we’ll send you an additional reminder via email and/or text. If you’ve yet to confirm 4 days prior to your appointment date, we’ll send you an additional reminder via email and/or text.

You will always receive a voice message reminder 7 days prior to your appointment and a final friendly reminder via email and/or text 4 hours prior to your visit!

What services can I expect during my very first dental appointment with Modern Touch Dental?

Your first visit to Modern Touch Dental establishes a vital foundation for our relationship with you. During the first visit, we make sure to obtain important background information, like your medical history, and give you time to get to know your doctor. We then complete a comprehensive evaluation, capture any necessary radiographs, and address your current dental concerns.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

If this is your first time visiting Modern Touch Dental, please be sure to bring any dental insurance cards you’d like us to have on file for billing purposes. To save you time, we encourage you to download and fill out our new patient forms at home prior to your appointment. Simply bring the completed forms with you to the office.

Can you complete dental treatment if I’m pregnant?

Yes. In fact, we encourage regular exams and dental cleanings during your pregnancy to help prevent and/or treat pregnancy gingivitis. We will work very closely with your OBGYN to ensure that any urgent dental needs are addressed in the safest manner possible.

Are there cases where you refer your patients to an out-of-office specialist?

Yes. Our talented and highly experienced team is equipped to handle almost any situation in-office, but whenever it is necessary to refer you to an out-of-office specialist, we will make sure you receive the best care possible with another conveniently located dental practice. If we are not able to provide you with the best service and care in a particular area, we will refer you to someone who is a master in what they do.
